It was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Its trunk was massive, easily wider than the shopback in Diagon Alley, and its bark shimmered faintly with an iridescent sheen, as though it weremade of light itself. The roots twisted out from the base like the legs of some ancient beast,stretching across the ground and disappearing into the earth, while the branches above swayedgently despite the stillness of the air.
The great tree was falling. Its massive trunk, splintered and broken, was crashing down toward theearth with a force that sent shockwaves through the ground. The roots, still thrashing and twisting,were spreading out like the tendrils of some ancient beast, tearing up the forest floor in their wake. They wouldn’t outrun it.
“Gregorovitch!” Ollivander shouted, his voice cutting through the rising hum of energy. “Stop!”
