"That’s not gonna hold for long," Percy muttered, his eyes narrowing as he fired a shot at the far wall, hoping to dislodge a hidden mechanism. The bullet ricocheted off the stone harmlessly, the room giving no sign of relenting. Vax clenched his jaw, his grip tightening around the small, glowing box he’d grabbed. The artifact’s runes pulsed, a sickly light that seemed to mock him as if it were the source of the trap’s activation. "We’re missing something," he said through gritted teeth. "There has to be a way to stop this." The floor beneath them rumbled violently, and the spikes grew taller, cutting off their ability to move across the chamber. They were hemmed in now, the once wide-open room closing tighter with each passing second. The grinding of stone was deafening, and the air grew thick with the scent of earth and magic. Vex’s gaze flicked toward the ceiling. "Keyleth, can you get us out through the roof?"
