“Hang in there, Fabian,” James whispered, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he continued to pull Fabian’s weight through the corridor. “We’re almost out of this.”
The sound of the Death Eaters’ pursuit echoed through the cavern, their voices low and distant but growing louder. They were closing in.
James raised an eyebrow. “You planning to take on a group of Death Eaters with a rock?” Fabian shrugged, his grin widening. “Better than nothing. And besides, I’ve got more than a few tricks up my sleeve.”

Chapter Preview:
“There,” Fabian said, pointing to the crack. “Looks like it leads outside.” James nodded, relief washing over him. “Finally.” But just as they started toward the exit, a sound echoed through the cavern—a low, rumbling growl that made the hairs on the back of James’s neck stand on end. Fabian froze, his eyes snapping to the shadows at the far end of the room. “Did you hear that?” James swallowed hard, his heart pounding in his chest. “Yeah. I heard it.” They moved slowly, cautiously, their eyes scanning the dark corners of the cavern. The growl came again, louder this time, followed by the unmistakable sound of something large moving in the shadows. James’s blood ran cold. Whatever it was, it was big. And it was coming toward them. “Run,” Fabian whispered, his voice tight with urgency.
