“Where’s Fabian?” James growled, his eyes darting to the side, searching for any sign of his friend. “Taken care of,” the Death Eater sneered, his grin visible even behind the mask. “He didn’t put upmuch of a fight.”
Fabian’s eyes flicked up from the fire, his brows furrowing. “Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same thing.It’s too... empty. No way a place like this is just abandoned without a reason.”

Fabian tackled the man before he could cast another spell, sending both of them crashing to theground in a flurry of fists and curses. James moved to help, but Fabian had already wrestled theDeath Eater’s wand away, pinning him to the ground with a sharp knee to the ribs. For a moment, the tavern was silent, save for the heavy breathing of both men as they caught theirbreath. The three Death Eaters lay incapacitated on the floor, their wands scattered uselessly aroundthem. James stared at Fabian, his chest heaving with adrenaline. “You alright?”Fabian wiped the blood from his lip, his grin returning despite the bruise forming on his jaw. “I’ve hadworse.” James let out a shaky breath, his body still buzzing from the fight. They had been seconds away fromdeath, and yet Fabian had pulled them through—again. “We need to get out of here,” Fabian said, his voice low as he glanced toward the door. “There couldbe more coming.”
